ABOUT US
A Hands-On Builder
I have lived and worked on Wadmalaw Island since 1994. I have worked throughout Charleston and her islands building anything from small horse barns to multi-million dollar estates. I have learned that any build cannot be successful without being hands-on and paying attention to every detail:
Too many local companies rely on project managers- the 'builder' is too busy in his office to be truly involved in your build. I have built some of Charleston's finest homes by being on the jobsite, and usually swinging a hammer. I know how a great home comes together. It takes a contractor who is first and foremost a builder. It takes the respect of the trades and subs, and that is something that is earned by paying your dues and being on the jobsite. It takes excellent communication between the client, the builder, and the entire design team; and that only happens by being on the job.
Your project deserves nothing less.
THE NUTS AND BOLTS... AND PICS
"THE OFFICE"
Even the best plans should be considered 'written in pencil'. Things change and evolve throughout a project. That's where a builder trumps a mere contractor. A builder is someone who is on the site, with a tape measure- anticipating and recognizing opportunities or potential issues before they become costly. That's how good plans become a great house. At right: "The Office"!
"THE TOOLBOX"
Back when builders built houses, we had the right tools for the job. I still think this is how a house should be built- by knowing how to build it, buying the tools to do it, and being on the job. At right: The sawmill. Reclaimed lumber and architectural beams continue to be in vogue, and this is one example of simply having the right tool for the job.
THE RESULTS:
